The Must Haves to Take Your Wardrobe from Spring to Summer for the Busy Mum

Today I am going to share with you my Top 5 must haves for your wardrobe to keep in style and up to date with this seasons trends.

1. A Pair of Linen 3/4 Pants

I have invested in a white pair this season (yes I am crazy, I have two messy kids! But hey, there’s no reason Mum’s can’t be fashionable too!) White feels resort like and crisp and look fresh. I have a pair of cream pants from last year, so these can travel with you from season to season and stay in fashion. Don’t forget to give them a quick press with the iron or hang them over the airer after washing  for a slightly crinkled look – they are going to crinkle when you sit down anyway!

2. A Summery Dress

There is nothing I crave more in the warmer weather than having a shower and putting on a cool dress. I have been pregnant for the last couple of Summers, so this season I am looking forward to wearing ones which aren’t maternity! I picked up a lovely silk dress recently from Jeanswest in their 40% off sale and even grabbed a cotton dress from Kmart for a really low price of $25. I like to wear mine around the garden, but it is still nice enough to duck out to the shops in!

3. The Trusty Singlet Top

I wear these under most of my tops and have one each in black, beige, white and navy! They help to give you a smooth line under your close fitting summery tops and a bit of extra warmth on cooler days.

4. A Bold Necklace

A necklace allows you to take your day time clothes into the evening. With the warmer weather and daylight savings I often find myself staying out later in the evening or going out with my family. I transform my outfits from day to night with a bold necklace. I am yet to invest in one this season, but a few of my yummy mummy friends have very nice teething necklaces which are fashionable and baby friendly – another plus for the busy Mum!

5. Impanema Thongs

My sister got me onto these stylish yet comfortable thongs. I am always on the go, so I picked these up in a couple of colours to compliment my outfits.

You don’t need to spend a lot to bring your wardrobe up to date. I look out for VIP sales and loyalty rewards to get the most for my money. Don’t forget to get your hair cut or coloured to complete your look and feel ready for the new season.
